Scan Results

Monday went well for Alyssa, other than the girl that did her IV had a really hard time and she had to poke her three times and it felt like it took an eternity for her to finish. Her hand has three pretty good bruises on it. At clinic on Tuesday our Doctor gave us her results. Her AFP (tumor marker) came back normal again. Her MRI is showing that the enlarged lymphnodes have not change since last time and they think they may just be large because of scar tissue and they may never go down in size. The size of her uterus is enlarged from last time. The Doctors are not sure why, but they are going to adjust her road map for the time being. Instead of rescanning in another 3 months they will rescan her in six weeks. Her blood draws will be every 3 weeks instead of once a month. Her Doctor wants to watch her a little closer to make sure that the tumor is not coming back.

Deep breaths and take it one blood test and MRI at a time. I've been thinking about you all morning. We love and care about you and your family so very much.

Surely there's no denying the reality of "scanxiety." I'm glad that the doctors are keeping a watchful eye, but it is hard to have to go so regularly. Best wishes to you.

Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with Alyssa and the rest of your family. We will continue to "dance in the rain with you". The Lord will keep his eyes on you, His hands will be held out to you when you need help, His arms will be around your shoulders to bless and comfort you and His feet will continue to guide you through the storms!!!!! Love you. Aunt Maridee

You deserve an A+ because your Attitude determines your Altitude and you are rising above the trials you face. This trial may seem like Goliath was to David but you seem to face this with the same faith that David faced Goliath. What a great faith promoting experience that was for the people and your story is faith promoting to us as you go to battle with and for Alyssa.

I am sorry that the nurse couldn't have made things a little more comfortable. You will definitely be in our prayers. I am glad that the doctors are being so pro-active about things.
